I thought I would get an insight into creating art that would be seen by the public and get some inspiration. I wanted to see how to present my work as a performance. I looked at the relationship between art and music when I curated the music for this CSM runway show.
I just began experimenting with different shapes and textures.
I decided I wanted my stall at BIF to be selling shirts but I felt my design was too busy to be put on shirt so I came up with something a little more subtle.
The shirts were screen printed with black ink that had been treated so that it wouldn't come off in the wash.
All in all I feel this project was a success. I was pleased with the way I combined a form of media I was comfortable using whilst learning something new such as screen printing. I find the clothes aesthetically pleasing and they fit well. I printed off 13 but Ideally I would have wanted to of printed more as they seemed popular and I’d want enough to warrant having a table at BIF.
